Olympia Farm Organics is a cereal company based in Washington State. They began growing steadily in 2013, and in 2016, decided to begin selling their cereals across the country.

The market for cold cereals is primarily dominated by a handful of mega-marketers such as Kellogg Company and General Mills. However, a trip down the aisles of the breakfast cereal section of grocers in the natural channel or the organic/natural section of major supermarket chains reveals dozens of brands of breakfast cereals from smaller marketers. Like Olympia Farm, these natural cereal companies are often family-owned, passionate about their products, and dedicated to offering healthy food as a way to enhance the lives of their customers and to sustain the planet.
Olympia Farm’s primary target market is mothers looking to make a healthy breakfast choice for themselves and their children.
Design Thinking
I knew I wanted to create a unique package design to help differentiate Olympia Farm Organics from their competitors in the natural cereal market. I decided to keep the design very simple and rely heavily on color to distinguish the different flavor profiles.
The mark in the logo is representative of the natural grains found in all of Olympia Farm’s products.
