Hi, I'm Jessica – and I love design.
After four years in the Marine Corps as a Mass Communications Specialist, I recognized that I have a strong passion for visual communication. Once my contract was done, I decided to get out of the military and follow that newfound passion, as a student at the Art Institute of Colorado. As I student, I was excited to come to the realization that I found a career path that I truly loved!
I have been lucky to experience "agency life" with two internships. My first internship was at an advertising agency called LRXD in Denver, where I was able to expand and solidify my design and production skills. My second internship was at a digital agency in Denver called Elevated Third, or E3 for short. While I was at E3, I was fortunate to learn about real-world user experience design processes and found that it was something I very much enjoy doing! The kind folks at E3 even offered to cut my internship short and hire me as a contractor (which I very enthusiastically said yes to, of course).
I did contract work with E3 for nearly a year, until my husband and I had our first child – a beautiful little boy named Hunter. Since then, I have been continuing my full-time education, doing part-time contract work remotely, and seriously loving being a mom. Most of the time you can find me doing homework, working on a project, or hanging out with my husband and son, our two dogs and three cats (I may have a slight addiction to rescuing animals).
As my student chapter comes to a close, I am very excited to move forward with my design career. If we're lucky enough to meet in person, I'm sure you'll find that I am a dedicated young designer with a desire to always continue learning and improving!
